mysterywriter needs help

if i have reached pathologists with a few spare minutes —- i am a
mystery writer ("Horse of a Different Killer") who needs a pathology
question answered for my second book. What does a very diseased (cancer)
human lung look like? Please be as descriptive as possible, preferably
give me some comparisons, such as it feels like an overcooked ribeye
steak….. Size, shape, texture, color, smell etc. And how easy would it
be for someone in the medical business to get hold of a some diseased
lungs? how easy for the non-medical person to get a hold of lungs?
thank you
